I used the following tutorial to download and install the Oracle Client, Windows Security pack, Windows Server 2012 server tools, and I still cant get it to work. I updated Windows 7 Pro to Windows Server 2012 and downloaded the latest version of Oracle Client 11.2.0.4 for Windows, but get the following error message when I try to connect it to the database:
I am pretty sure that a connection is open and that the account used (SYS AS SYSDBA) is correct. The error message is not helpful. Does anyone have any ideas on what step I am missing? I have searched on the internet for something like that but I cannot find anything helpfull. I need a little help here because I have been stuck with this issue for several days now and I have no idea what to do anymore. Maybe someone can throw another idea my way.

I don`t know what is going on, but the game is experiencing an outage. Some players are saying they can play online, but I can’t. We are very sorry and working hard to get things back on track. In the meantime, we recommend that you stay off this page. We will update this post when we have more information.
thx alot but guess i have to wait unfortunatly... i was playing for november lol but this allways goes wrong.... you have 1 week to wait till you get a solution from the ppl who really know about this.....
Is anyone aware if Oracle really tested their product under the upgrade process for that particular version of Windows? I mean, they might have, but it may not be their main focus. In any event, I'm willing to give it a try since it was tested under Windows Server 2012. Older versions of Windows, especially Windows 8, are a little out of my league.
Note that this will not replace the existing database with a new one. It will effectively start a new 64 bit version for the database. As is always the case with upgrades, you should test everything like your hair be on fire. If you have Oracle Enterprise Manager or the Oracle Enterprise Control Base (ECB) or any sort of monitoring program, you should start it up (again, as is always the case with upgrades). d2c66b5586
