What is Softlogix Chassis Monitor and How to Use It
Softlogix Chassis Monitor is a software tool that allows you to configure and monitor the components of a Softlogix 5800 system, which is a soft controller based on the Logix platform. The Logix platform provides a single integrated control architecture for discrete, drives, motion, process, and safety control.
Softlogix Chassis Monitor models a virtual chassis that represents the physical chassis of a control system. You can install virtual devices in the virtual chassis to represent the controller and cards in your system. For example, you can install a Softlogix controller, a Soft ENBT module for EtherNet/IP communication, and an input/output simulator module for testing purposes.
Softlogix Chassis Monitor lets you perform various tasks such as:
Creating and deleting virtual chassis
Adding and removing virtual modules
Setting module properties and parameters
Viewing module status and diagnostics
Downloading and uploading controller firmware
Launching Studio 5000 Logix Designer software to program the controller
To use Softlogix Chassis Monitor, you need to install the Softlogix 5800 software on a Windows-based personal computer that meets the system requirements. You also need to have a valid license for the software. You can launch Softlogix Chassis Monitor from the Windows Start menu or from the system tray icon.
